I heard God laugh once.
\n(No, I was God laughing once)
\nAnd it was so funny that…<\/p>\n

I was a little child in the hands of the ocean.
\nThe ocean would not hurt me,
\nLet alone judge me. God, no.<\/p>\n

This ocean was an ocean of laughter.<\/p>\n

Now, this ocean is a metaphor
\nfor something larger —
\na galaxy, a Universe, perhaps,
\na hand
\nin which rests the Universe
\nalong with countless other trinkets.<\/p>\n

The hand is one of many, countless hands of a God,
\nwith infinite heads and bodies.<\/p>\n

What does it sound like when He laughs?
\nHA!<\/p>\n

We may be duplicitous, even disingenuous,
\nbut this is very ordinary, very human,
\neven dear and incorrigible.
\nIt is very, very sweet.<\/p>\n

So come to a dinner party in your wife\u2019s underwear;
\nwalk in with a skull for the host;
\nupend the dinner table.\u2013
\nGo ahead, make a terrible mistake \u2013
\nIt’s holy,
\nEven expected.
\nIt’s FUNNY!<\/p>\n
