Light on the water like a remembrance
\nof the circle we knew in movement
\nas rivers of birds and fish follow the coast
\nto springtime in a another blue world.
\nThe day and night meet perfectly half
\nlike a locket portrait darkens silver,
\nI turned my face of sea and looked up
\nat God\u2019s body hanging from every tree
\nin a dying invitation.
\nWind gave a respite from the biting flies,
\nI carved a boat from my burnt arms
\nto travel the saltgrass and narrows.<\/p>\n
