Spring please come
\neven one tulip petal on my poor tongue
\nparched from this coughing
\neven one splash of green so my eyes don’t go blind from this gray.<\/p>\n

I will not even ask that the sun shine
\neven warm rain would be sweet:
\nonly wash your hair in the soft drizzle
\nlet your hair ripple like your soft laugh.<\/p>\n

I want vivid pastels I want that high sough of leaves breeze shifted
\nI want little clean blades sticking out of the dirt
\neager and stupid as kittens<\/p>\n

and oh yes please bring kittens
\nat least one curious gray one
\nto mew his questions at me and beg asylum
\nfrom the goddam cold.<\/p>\n

Spring, wear a sheer dress
\nand open your legs to whatever lover you find
\nin your belly grow summer and heat.<\/p>\n

I want rays I want soft wet mud I want everything to wake up —
\nlet the sun prince kiss you so you forget old King Hell<\/p>\n

Please, Spring, take a sliver of sapling
\nand stab winter in his shrunken privates.
\nPlease please Spring,
\nkill winter and kiss me.<\/p>\n

Future Flower Flow<\/strong><\/p>\n
In rain we walk
\nbeneath pine tree canopies keeping wet away
\nbut not the wind or cold.
\nWe’re too early,
\neager for stems and vines and flowers
\nnot yet sprung late spring,
\nso we walk unblossomed beds of black signs
\npromising doll’s eyes, moonseed,
\nlavender mist meadow rue,
\nbleeding heart, soap weed,
\nJacob’s ladder, birdfoot sedge,
\nrough gentian, may apple, paw paw,
\ncucumbertree, running strawberrybush,
\nfalse mermaid,
\nall right as rain once due true
\nso we roam their pre-ghost gain
\nbreathe aroma name
\nof future flower flowing.<\/p>\n

Ease my rust to work
\nlike habitues of a roost solace
\nlong drawn cello of a tree
\nround its ring of winter
\nseason<\/p>\n
Bustling passerines
\ngrip and ease the branching itch,
\nmassaging strong dry taloned
\ntoes<\/p>\n
Things I want to right in me,
\ntapping natural activity, kindling
\nwith the green release of
\nsparkling spring<\/p>\n
